The National Society of Ral Estae Appraisers (NSREA) is an organization dedicated to promoting high professional standards among real estate appraisers.

Since its inception, the organization has grown in size and stature, and now has active chapters in most of the major cities in the country. In March of 1986, the organization was featured in Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine, formerly The Chaning Times. The article stated that, of fourteen professional real estate groups surveyed by the mortgage bankers' association, NSREA was one of the three appraisal organizations that offered clients the most protection.

The distinction of NSREA is further enhanced by its status as one of the eight chartered memebers of the appraisal foundation, a non-profit corporation charged with establishing the criteria for appraiser certification and professional standards.
